Christmas trees normally begin to come down on January 6 but if you’re keen here’s how to recycle your Christmas tree.
AdvertisementIn Preston it’s a little different this year due to Preston City Council introducing a charge for collection brown bins.
Chop up your Christmas tree, or squeeze it in, and leave your brown bin out as normal.
You can check your bin collection day on the council website.
You have two options, first you can pay a £5 collection charge to the city council and they will come and take it away. You do this via the city council website.
Secondly, you can take your Christmas tree to any of the household waste recycling centres in Lancashire.
You can cut you Christmas tree ‘down to a manageable size’ and leave it alongside your brown bin and it will be collected or take it to any household waste recycling centre
