Preston’s HMV has left the city’s high street and is moving within a shopping centre.
The Fishergate record and entertainment shop has closed its doors and is setting up in its new home.
All staff are being transferred to the new shop which is on the first floor of the St George’s Shopping Centre.
It was announced in December the HMV store was to move and it is due to open during the course of February.
The former Peacocks store on the Friargate side of the shopping centre is being converted into the new HMV store.
General manager of St George’s shopping centre Andrew Stringer said: We’re really looking forward to adding HMV to the mix here at St George’s. Preston has been home to the brand since 1984 and it is very popular with shoppers.”
