A lorry becoming stuck across Preston’s Ringway has caused tailbacks during Friday (16 December) morning.

Shortly after 9.15am the HGV turned into the road near the prison and became trapped on a grass verge.

Preston Police closed off the road while work began to right the vehicle, and it was cleared around 11.30am.

Ringway was affected near the left-hand turn towards Preston Bus Station heading into the city centre.

Traffic stretched back down London Road towards the Capitol Centre.

One onlooker said: “He’s come wrong way down Pole Street and turned left onto the Ring Road and gone onto the grass and sunk

“Nothing can get up towards the court it’s blocked.”
