Cats Protection Penwortham Branch
Local charity, Cats Protection Branch, has opened its brand new shop in Penwortham on Wednesday 14 December.
The Preston Branch is part of the charity’s national network of over 250 volunteer-run branches, 32 centres and 100 shops that together help around 200,000 cats and kittens each year.
Cats Protection’s new Penwortham Shop is located at 77 Liverpool Road, and sells a variety of second-hand clothes and household goods as well as bric-a-brac, books and other media.

The charity is run entirely by unpaid volunteers to help support the local cats and kittens in the Preston area.
The shop’s launch welcomed local residents for a celebratory evening which coincided with the popular Penwortham Christmas Markets.
Cats Protection’s Penwortham Shop is open from 9am – 5pm on Monday – Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.

Shirley Chisnall, Volunteer Branch Co-ordinator, said: “The branch would very much appreciate donations and clean second-hand goods.
“In addition, we would love to hear from anyone willing to volunteer their time to help run the shop.
“Funds raised by the shop will help unwanted cats in the branch’s care, so we hope local people see us as a cause worth supporting.”
