The One Voice Community Choir at Preston Minster
From belting out O Come All Ye Faithful on a boat to a full concert band extravaganza there’s plenty of ways to get in the festive spirit.
Carol concerts are taking place across the city in the run up to Christmas.
Here’s a run down on ones we know about:
Rock FM’s Cash for Kids Christmas Concert is on Thursday 8 December. Taking place at Preston Minster doors are at 6pm with carols from 6.30pm. For more information contact Nikki or Clare on 01772477974.
The KTB music choir perform at the Penwortham Priory Academy for the annual Christmas Extravaganza on Saturday 10 December.

Four choirs, a concert band and soloists all perform, with John Gilmore of BBC Radio Lancashire compereing. £5 admission from 7pm.
Preston Orpheus Choir are doing a joint concert with Freckleton Brass Band and a children’s choir from Ashton Primary School on Saturday 10 December at St Michael’s and All Angels in Ashton at 7pm.
All Saints Church holds a traditional carol concert, with an organ, on Sunday 11 December. The church in Elizabeth Street sees the service at 6.30pm.
New Longton Methodist Church choir are singing the Story of Christmas on Sunday 11 December, and it’s free to attend.
The One Voice Community Choir’s Christmas Concert takes place on Saturday 17 December at preston Minster.
It’s £5 entry and £1 for children. It starts at 7pm.
Carols at the Conti, at the Continental pub in South Meadow Lane, is on Sunday 18 December. It’s free entry and starts at 8.30pm.
The Ashton Methodist Church is holding a free carol service on Sunday 18 December. The Wellington Street church’s carols begin from 6pm and there’s coffee and mince pies afterwards.
Carols by Candlelight takes place at New Longton Methodist Church on Sunday 18 December at 6.30pm.
Earlier in the day is a traditional Christmas Cruise from the Ribble Cruising Club. A few boats go along the river from The Ship at Freckleton to Preston Marina.

After some mince pies and mulled wine carols are then belted out from the boats at the Marina.
At Hutton Village Hall on Monday 19 December the KTB Choir are back in action again, singing with the Longridge Brass Band. Concert starts at 7.30pm and admission is £5.
On Wednesday 21 December there’s the Longton VM Choir performing at the Longton VM Sports and Social club in School Lane, Longton. It’s £5 in and starts from 7pm.
On Saturday 24 December there is the Christmas Eve Carol Service and Sunday 25 December the Christmas Day Carol Service at St Michael and All Angels with St Mark in Ashton.
