A Junior Concert Band from Archbishop Temple High School, in Fulwood, has secured a place in the final of the National Concert Band Festival.
The band are one of only two junior bands competing in the national festival that will take place on 8 April 2017.
Finalists were selected at the regional round of the festival which took place in Oldham last month.
The regional round sees bands compete against each other and are then judged against a set of criteria, with the opportunity of winning Bronze, Silver or Gold or Platinum Awards.
The Junior Concert Band were awarded with the Gold Award, along with some Platinum ticks in the Junior Band Category.
The Senior Concert Band of the secondary school also did fantastically well in the Wind Band Category, receiving a Gold Award with a Platinum Tick.
The National Concert Band Festival is the UK’s largest wind band and big band festival.

The exciting final is taking place in Warwick on the 8 and 9 April 2017.
