Eden School opened in September and a primary school for 120 pupils is now to be opened in two floors of the 13-storey building.
Conlon Construction has started work on the site which will include six classrooms, a reception area and toilet facilities. An outdoor playground will also be included. It is due to be complete in January.
Tauheedul Education Trust (TET) are behind the new Muslim faith primary school which is funded by the Education Funding Agency.
Michael Conlon, chairman at Conlon Construction, said: “Having recently completed the construction work for Eden Boy’s School, we’re excited to work on a second project with Tauheedul Education Trust.
“As a member of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, we take great care in the communities in which we operate. Our experience of both refurbishment projects and education schemes will enable us to deliver the project effectively and we are looking forward to the day we can unveil the new facilities to children attending the school.”
The TET operates faith and non-faith primary and secondary schools across the UK.
