Junction of Ribbleton Lane and Blackpool Road

Police are appealing for information after a woman suffered serious injuries in a collision.

A 37-year-old woman from Fulwood was driving close to the junction of Ribbleton Lane and Blackpool Road when her vehicle collided with a tree.

The incident happened around 1.10am on November 2. The driver suffered serious head and pelvis injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital. She remains in a critical condition.

The road was closed for more than three hours while accident investigators attended the scene.

Temp Sgt Lee Campbell, of Lancashire Police’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for information following a collision in Preston.

“A 37-year-old woman has suffered serious injuries and we want to establish exactly what happened.

“If you saw the orange Peugeot before the incident, or witnessed the collision, please call police.”
