Police called to reports of man ‘tying noose on tree’ in Lostock Hall

Police were scrambled to save a man who has displayed ‘worrying behaviour’ in Lostock Hall.

During Wednesday (16 November) morning officers at South Ribble Police received calls about a man tying what appeared to be a noose around a tree branch at a park.

He then got into a car and drove off. Another call then came into police about a man displaying worrying behaviour.

Officers found the car but then had to locate the man in question.

He has now been sectioned under the Mental Health Act and has been taken to a place of safety to speak with a specialist.

Sergeant Hesketh of Preston Police said: “It’s not all about crime – and unfortunately incidents like this aren’t rare. What I want anyone reading this to know is that no one should suffer mental illness in silence. There is help available.”
