A CCTV image has been released following a warning of car break-ins across the south of Preston.

Roads in Bamber Bridge, Lostock Hall and Walton-le-Dale have all been targeted according to police.

The footage shows a man leaving a driveway captured on a home CCTV system after trying a car door – unsuccessfully.

The warning was initially issued on Saturday 23 October after three men were spotted.

The Holland House estate in Bamber Bridge has been subject to many attempts.

A statement from police on Friday (4 November) said: “We have had another spike in vehicle crime over the last few nights, opportunist thieves are trying door handles and taking anything found in unlocked vehicles.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
