A lorry has caught fire on the M6 northbound near Preston.

There are lane closures while firefighters deal with the flames on the northbound carriageway.

Emergency services are on the scene at the motorway between Junction 29 (Preston South) and Junction 31 (Tickled Trout).

All lanes were closed as of 7.45pm on Friday (4 November) but two lanes reopened at 8.05pm.

There are delays back to Junction 28 (Leyland) at present and also a knock-on effect onto the M61 northbound.

Traffic is expected to return to normal around 11pm on Friday.
