A social club in Ribbleton has called time at the bar for one last time.
Greenlands New Labour Club in Chatburn Road has announced its closure with immediate effect.
A statement from the owner Mick Varey on the club’s Facebook page said: “It is with regret that we have to announce that as of today (Monday 14 November) the Greenlands club will cease to operate for the foreseeable future.
“I would like to thank the customers, staff and friends and sports teams of the club for all their custom and hard work over the last 12 years. We will truly miss you all.
“Any functions booked will be contacted over the next few days, we are very sorry for the inconvenience.”
The club hosted regular community events, and most recently a Halloween fancy dress disco.

Regular DJ at the club Bobby Whalley said: “It’s a very fantastic end of an era, started working here 15 years ago and as the longest member of staff I would like to say thanks to the committee for taking me on as a DJ and not to forget Michelle, Willy, Mick and Donna who kept me on as a DJ – they took the club over 11 years ago and done a fantastic job!
“I will honestly miss each and everyone who came to the club for a drink and enjoyed yourself. From everyone who booked me for their function I would like to say thank you very much! Love you all!”
In 2011 the club was mired in controversy after an investigation uncovered video footage of children ‘cage fighting’ in the club.
