Every Prestonian knows it is only really the beginning of the festive season when this shop reappears in the city centre.

Mrs Christmas has set up shop once more and in the St George’s Shopping Centre.

And one of the firm’s most loyal customers was on hand to open the store on Saturday (30 October).

Rowena Coulton, from Larches, has decked her halls for the last 25 years from Mrs Christmas.

The 85-year-old was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a free copy of the family firm’s latest Christmas fun – a reindeer game.

Mrs Christmas first opened in Preston in the run up to the festive season in 1986, and it’s been a tradition each year until then to meet all of Preston’s Christmas needs.

This year the reindeer game adds an extra twist, the customer sharing the best video of them playing the reindeer game on the firm’s Facebook wall stands a chance of winning £250.
