An underpass allowing pedestrians to safely get across one of Preston’s busiest junctions is to be shut.
For those wanting to get from D’urton Lane to Eastway the subway under the M55 is now off limits.
Lancashire County Council announced due to construction work on the Broughton Bypass they need to close access to the subway from Monday (7 November).
An alternative route is being set up, directing people across the A6 before the reach the roadabout.
The crossings are at Parklands Drive and D’urton Lane.
A spokesman for the county council said: “This diversion will be in place for the foreseeable future, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Nearby schools have been informed of the closure.

The Broughton Bypass is a 1km road being built around the edge of the village to ease congestion on the Broughton crossroads.
Last month the county council announced the scheme is five months behind schedule and due to cost millions of pounds more.
