Magic of the Movies is the spectacular variety show dedicated to Sir Tom Finney that is coming to Preston’s Charter Theatre on Saturday 19th November at 7pm.
The show is being held to raise money for the local charity, Cash for Kids, based at Rock FM radio station, which helps anyone from birth to 18 years old who may live in poverty, with abuse, homelessness, disability or a lifetime limiting condition and last year the show raised £15,000 for children in Lancashire.
The movie themed show will be hosted by comedian Phil Walker and will include performances of classic films such as Dream Girls, Les Misérables, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Footloose, Toy Story and many more.
Various dance schools will be taking part, such as My Stage Company Preston, Studio 15 Thornton Cleveleys, Bernese Theatre Dance Blackburn, PDA and Aim2b Leyland and Street Monkeys.
Preston College dancers and performing arts students are also heavily involved and have been in support of Cash for Kids for many years.
Clare Traynor, from Cash for Kids, said: “I think we have captured something special for every audience.
“We want people to have a really fun experience from the minute they step into the Guild Hall to the minute they leave the theatre.
“The fact that they will be helping an underprivileged child at the same time is a massive bonus.”
