Preston hosted its first day dedicated to random acts of kindness on Thursday.
The UCLan Acts of Kindness Day was organised as a day-long event by staff and students from all areas of the university.
Visitors to the UCLan In the City shop in St George’s Centre were treated to free massages from physiotherapy students and took part in kindness-related craft activities such as making twiddle muffs for dementia patients.

Dr Lorraine Dacre Pool, Senior Lecturer in Employability, was the event’s main organiser. She said: “The whole day was fantastic with a brilliant atmosphere both on campus and in the city.
“There was so much kindness and so many smiles. Thanks to all who made it such a success.”
UCLan also set up Kindness Kabins on campus for visitors to pledge their own acts of kindness, drop off items for the homeless and collect gifts for friends.
