A 60-bedroom hotel in the Old Post Office building has seen plans lodged in the next step of its conversion.
AdvertisementSignature Living announced in June it had bought the grade-II listed building from Preston City Council for an undisclosed sum.
It proposes to turn the building, in Birley Street and facing onto the Flag Market, into a boutique hotel.
Proposals lodged to the city council show it would have 60 bedrooms split over four floors, a 170-seater restaurant and bar, a spa, sauna and pool and be used as a wedding venue.

A two-storey extension with a flat roof is planned for the Birley Street side of the building.
A planning statement from the Liverpool-baised hotel firm says the design of its extension would be ‘sympathetic to the existing property’. It says it needs the extension to act as a wedding and function space where the Old Fish Market is unavailable.
Full plans for the building are available to view on the city council website, where comments can be left.
Blog Preston has approached Signature Living for comment but received no response at the time of publication.
