Driving through the centre of Preston has changed dramatically from Monday morning, but some Prestonian’s didn’t get the memo.

Motorists were snapped happily driving straight past signs in Fishergate saying the main shopping street is only for buses, cyclists and taxis between 11am an 6pm.

Lancashire County Council’s big plan to ease congestion looks set to net them a hefty windfall.

Fines of £60 are being dished out by cameras situated at either end of the new bus lane stretch of Fishergate.

At the other end the no right turn from Butler Street is also now enforced by cameras.
