The musical life and loves of one of Britain’s most-loved DJs is to be celebratedĀ on Friday.
John Peel Day is marked by fans of the former radio DJ across the UK and Preston is no different.
Two stages at The Continental will see bands play including a former member of Cornershop – famous for their hit A Brimful of Asha.
Un-Peeled is on and includes some of Peel’s favourite acts.
The Nightingales, The Stupids, Eton Crop, christ, The Great Leap Forward, Minny Pops, John Hyatt’s Plastic Reality, Spread Eagle, Deutsche, Ashram, The Common cold (Mark and Ajay from Dandelion Adventure and Dave Chambers from Cornershop) are all booked, along with a rare and exclusive performance from Welsh act Datblygu.
DJs on the night are Fenny from On The Wire on BBC Radio lancashire and Les will fill in gaps of Peel’s record collection.
