Fulwood rape investigation launched as woman found unconscious

A woman was found unconscious in Fulwood after what police say is a sexual assault.
AdvertisementPolice tape is up off Sherwood Way, close to the junction with Barnacre Close.
Officers were called to an address in the road after reports of concern for the welfare of a 23-year-old woman.
They found the woman unconscious near the address at 4am on Friday (21 October) and detectives have launched an investigation into the incident.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital.

A 23 year old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of rape and is currently in custody.
