A colourful celebration of Fishwick and St Matthews is to take place in early November.
AdvertisementThe Big Local Art Celebration gives residents the chance to share the wealth of creativity discovered since the launch of a scheme to regenerate the area.
Have a go art workshops are running from 12noon and children from nearby schools are showing off what they’ve made in a mini carnival procession.
Becky Atherton and Bernie Velvick from ArtFull and Bob Heath from Cacophany Arkestra have been working in Preston to help communities who struggle with access to creative outlets.
The free event, which includes lunch, also sees music from local bands.

It takes place in St Joseph’s Sports Hall, Rigby Street from 12noon to 3.30pm on Saturday 5 November.
It’s part of the Big Local Project which sees £1m being spent in Fishwick and St Matthews, by its Friends group, after residents there voted for a neighbourhood plan in a referendum.
