The driver of a BMW involved in a crash which led to the death of a 15-year-old boy near Preston has been released on bail.
Dylan Crossey was cycling along Chainhouse Lane towards Penwortham Way on Friday (7 October) at 11pm when he was involved in a collision with a silver 3 Series BMW vehicle.
The driver failed to stop at the scene but was arrested on Saturday by Lancashire Police on suspicion of dangerous driving and drink driving.
The 42-year-old from New Longton has been released on bail until Monday 19 December, pending further investigations.
Dylan died in hospital on Saturday from injuries sustained in the collision.
His family released a statement saying: “He was a gentleman and was growing into a fine young man.
“Dylan was an outstanding footballer and loved to watch his favourite team Preston North End both at home and away.
“Dylan was taken from us suddenly and without warning.
“He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.”
