Simon Rigby’s next stage for the venue was given the seal of approval by Preston City Council’s planning committee.
Branded LeVel it is to include a bowling alley and other attractions on the Guild Centre side of the venue.
Mr Rigby said: “LeVel is going to be very family focused. We will have a child friendly TexMex inspired restaurant, along with a sports bar.
“At night it will turn into adult more for people wanting an activity night out.”
Plans, lodged in June, showed how there would be an indoor sports centre along with a karaoke bar entered from Church Row.
Comments from planning officers stated: “It is considered that the proposal would bring a vacant unit back into use and would add to the diversity and economic viability of the city centre.”
