A man was left with ‘substantial facial injuries’ after being punched in the face outside a Preston city centre nightclub.
AdvertisementPolice have released CCTV pictures of a group of people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
The 26-year-old victim was leaving Blitz in Church Row at 3.20am on Saturday (27 August).
He and friends were confronted by a group of people. The victim became separated and he was attacked, knocked to the floor with a single punch.
The victim left the scene in a taxi before going to Royal Preston Hospital where he was treated for a double fracture to his jaw.
The group involved made off into Lord Street, turning left towards the city centre along Lancaster Road by the Guild Hall.

Det Con Ian Zanelli, of Preston CID, said: “This was a cowardly, nasty and unprovoked attack on a young man who had been enjoying a night out in the city centre.
“The victim has been left with substantial facial injuries with the potential for long-term lasting damage.
“We are particularly keen to talk anyone who was near to the scene at the time of the incident or who may have seen the assault take place.
“I urge the person responsible to come forward or anyone with any information at all to contact police immediately.”
