One of the most senior religious leaders in the country has paid a visit to a Preston school.
The Archbishop of York Reverend John Sentamu was in Fulwood during Friday morning.
He spent the time with pupils and staff at Archbishop Temple High School.
Rev Sentamu heard about the secondary school’s new Archbishop of York young leaders award.
Head girl Domonique West said: “I thought he answered our questions in a really interesting and engaging way. His answers changed the way I think about a lot of things.”
He also met head boy Max Cross who said: “The Archbishop spent time talking with me about my own faith and beliefs. He was really inspiring.”
Headteacher Gill Jackson said: “The pupils really enjoyed meeting the Archbishop, his warm personality made an immediate impact as he encouraged them to participate in their community and ‘be the change they want to see’.”
