Parts of Lostock Hall and Bamber Bridge have been placed on flood alert after heavy rain in the Preston area.
The Environment Agency has issued flood alerts for the Rivers Lostock and Yarrow.
Torrential rain lashed Preston overnight from Sunday into Monday, leading to one person needing to be rescued from their car in Lostock Hall.
Croston Road in Lostock Hall claimed one vehicle as firefighters were scrambled to save the car.
It had become trapped in two feet of flood water, with the driver inside.
Fire crews from Bamber Bridge and Penwortham managed to push the car to safety at 5.22am.

Elsewhere on the M6 just south of Junction 29 a car span and hit the central reservation.
A flood alert, the lowest warning level, is also active on the River Ribble near Ribchester. There are currently no flood alerts on the River Ribble at Preston.
