County Councillor Jennifer Mein, leader of the county council, said: “These city centre improvements will help to bring in new businesses and attract more people to this part of the city.

“Working in such a busy area will cause some disruption, but we’ve been focused on keeping this to a minimum throughout the scheme, while making sure that people can continue to access businesses.

“I’m sure that people will be happy when they see the completed improvements. We’re looking forward to seeing the benefits that it brings to this part of the city centre.”

Diversions during the closure are being put in place and alternative bus stops are to be used.
