An area of Preston in-keeping with its Victorian layout is due to keep its special status.
AdvertisementAshton-on-Ribble’s conservation area running from Blackpool Road down to Watery Lane was up for review.
But Preston City Council looks set to ensure the protection for the area remains.
Roads such as Victoria Parade and Wellington Road have seen changes in recent years but the council’s plans said it was still respecting the original Victorian street grid.
Listed buildings such as the St Andrew’s Church lie within the conservation area, which hasn’t been reviewed since 1990.

A consultation event was held for residents to give their views in late April – and the council received only one written response to the consultation on the conservation area.
Councillors on the city council’s cabinet are due to approve keeping the conservation area at a meeting at the Town Hall on Wednesday 17 August from 6pm.
