These are the pictures from an amazing year at Kendal Calling 2016.

The music festival, situated at Lowther Deer Park near Penrith, is traditionally attended by a large number from Preston as well as having a number of bands from the area perform.

This year punters were treated to fantastic weather almost throughout the weekend – something that is far from a given in the Lake District.

The festival was headlined by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Madness and Rudimental with additional sets from the likes of Everything Everything, The Charlatans and Peter Doherty.

Special mention should go to local boys New York Tourists who drew a substantial crowd over to the Woodlands Stage.

Ben Robinson, festival director at Kendal Calling, said: “From small seeds a stunning and magical festival has been created in the fields of Cumbria.

“Our thanks go out to every single person who joined us in the fields this year. Festival-goers and the staff working to stage the event came together and created an atmosphere and weekend that will be remembered for a long time to come.

“Without question the 11th Kendal Calling was the best yet and an exciting new decade for the festival lies ahead.”
