Fans of Roald Dahl are in for a treat as big screen viewing of some of his most famous works are to be held in Preston.
AdvertisementMatilda and James and the Giant Peach are the films to be shown as part of a short series of film showings for the city.
The free showing of James and the Giant Peach takes place on the Flag Market on Saturday 20 August at 7.30pm.
It’s part of the Cinema Around the Corner project with arts group TheyEatCulture giving a different twist on cinema viewing.

First up is Matila on Saturday 13 August at The Continental with scratch and sniff cards allowing you to smell along with the scenes in the film.
It’s £3 per ticket or £10 for a family of four, for a 2pm showing.
Three more films are also being shown as part of the series.
The Night Digger (18) is showing at The Conti on Tuesday 30 August from 7.30pm and costs £4 on the door.
A series of Alfred Hitchcock films are being shown on Friday 2 September, also at the Conti. The films are Lamb to the Slaughter, A Dip in the Pool, The Man from the South and The Landlady. It’s free and on from 7.30pm.
And a final screening sees The Foxton Centre become a pop-up cinema with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on from 6pm on Friday 9 September. It’s free for Foxton clients and £4 for everyone else.
