Witnesses are being sought after a man was stabbed in Penwortham during an early hours argument.
AdvertisementThe 18-year-old man was with two friends in Martin Field Road.
They were walking in the direction of Moss Acre Road when they were confronted by a man around 1.30am on Wednesday 20 July.
Follow what police say was a ‘minor disagreement’ the man stabbed the victim in his stomach.
The suspect then made off up a ginnel at the side of Kingsfold Primary School in the direction of Padway.
The victim was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he received treatment for a single stab wound to his stomach.
The offender is described as white, aged in his late twenties, approximately 5ft 10in tall, lean build and was wearing a black hooded jackets, black pants and black trainers and spoke with a local accent
DS Jerry Sturgess of Preston CID said: “This was an unprovoked and cowardly attack which could have resulted in a life threatening injury. We are particularly keen to talk anyone who was near to the scene at the time of the incident who may have seen the suspect in the vicinity.”
