Witnesses to a collision in Ingol which left a pensioner with serious injuries are being urged to come forward.
AdvertisementAn 82-year-old man was taken ill at the wheel and his red Nissan Micra collided with a Volkswagen van in Tag Lane.
The incident on Saturday (July 23) morning closed the road for two hours.
The driver of the Micra remains in Royal Preston Hospital with spinal injuries.
The driver of the van, a 34-year-old man, suffered whiplash.
Sergeant Nigel Ralphson of the Road Policing Unit said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this collision and would urge them to get in touch.
“I’d particularly like to speak to the occupants of the parked car that the Micra overtook immediately before the collision occurred and also the occupants of a green transit-style works van which was the first vehicle to pass the scene after the collision. It was travelling generally north towards Tanterton Hall Road.”
