A major road in Preston has been closed following a serious collision.

Reports of a number of vehicles involved in a crash on the A6, London Road, unconfirmed reports say it involves a car and a motorbike.

The section near Egyptian restaurant Lola has been closed since just before 8pm on Sunday (3 July).

A spokesman for Lancashire Road Police said the road was closed in both directions between Frenchwood Avenue and Queen Street.

One man who lives in the area was on his way home when they were diverted by police. He said there were a large number of emergency services vehicles on the scene.

North West Ambulance Service and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are also understood to be on the scene.
