Grass blowing softly in the wind is no longer a featured of many roadsides around Preston.

Lancashire County Council has begun to cut back the grass verges.

Due to a contract ending between Preston City Council, who used to do the work, and the county council, it had left the city looking very unkempt.

Many Prestonians took to social media to share their pictures of overgrown grass at key junctions and along the city’s main routes.

Now the likes of Sherwood Way have been given a good strim by the new county council contractor.

If any of the grass verges near you haven’t been cut you can email highways@lancashire.gov.uk to report them.
