The cars have only started parking in the area in the past couple of weeks
Preston commuters have been left baffled as to why a busy road and in out of the city has seen cars parked on both sides.
AdvertisementLongridge Road, opposite Preston Crematorium, in the last week and a half has seen vehicles lining the kerbs.
Jill Cooper who droves the route every day sent the pictures into Blog Preston to ask what was happening.
The section of the B6243 between Roman Way and Rough Hey Road has become chock-a-block.
Ms Cooper said: “It’s been happening for well over a week. Cars parked on both sides of the road every day.”
Julie Cooper can’t work out why the cars are parking on Longridge Road
There are no yellow lines stopping parking on the road, although the vehicles are obscuring cars turning out from the crematorium and the nearby industrial estate.
Ms Cooper said it was often the same vehicles so thought they may be from a nearby company.
Update: Longridge Road parking sees council and police involved
A spokesman for Lancashire County Council confirmed there were no restrictions in place on this section of road, and would need to understand the issues arising before taking any action to introduce any parking restrictions.
