The sound of construction is beginning on what used to be Somic Mill in Preston.
AdvertisementLand off New Hall Lane is being built on by Mulbury Homes to create 68 new affordable homes.
Harbur Construction have set up on the land to build the mix of two and three bedroom semi-detached and terraced homes.
Each of the homes is to have two car parking spaces and a rear garden.
Operation director Andrew Booth said: “This second phase of development on this large former textile site will bring many community benefits. It will offer a significant visual improvement to the area and modern energy-efficient homes for local people.
“Demolition work on site is progressing well and we aim to have the site re-mediated and ready for construction to begin later this month.”
