Plumes of smoke can be seen from roads near the Lostock Hall site
Firefighters from Preston have been deployed to a large fire in near Lostock Hall.
Drivers are reporting seeing plumes of smoke coming from what’s understood to be Whitfire Shavings Limited in Church Lane.
South Ribble councillor Keith Martin tweeted “seems we have a huge fire in Farington. Power off as well.”
The fire is understood to have started shortly after 9am on Tuesday (21 June).

An aerial platform has also been deployed to the fire in Farington along with three fire engines. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said ten engines were now on the scene.

No one is understood to be hurt in the fire which can be seen from Preston city centre.
