The Double Tree is about to undergo a revamp

A troubled Indian restaurant in Preston is to reopen under new owners.

Double Tree in Garstang Road, Fulwood, has struggled after being raided by immigration officers who found a staff member working without visas.

Now a Barclays worker is taking on the restaurant and bringing a mix of traditional north and south Indian food to the city.

Sumit Tyagi and his partners are doing up the curry house to reopen it as Sai Surbhi.

Mr Tyagi said: “We will be having a soft launch and inviting people in for the first few weeks once the work is done.

“Our restaurant will serve the authentic Indian food to people of Preston with better customer service.”
