Further outbreaks of heavy rain are due to batter Preston as the humid week continues.
AdvertisementThe city saw downpours during the Monday morning rush hour, causing one school in Fulwood to close, and fire crews called out to pump water away.
Now the Met Office has issued heavy rain warnings for Tuesday (14 June) and Wednesday (15 June).
Preston and Lancashire are covered by the warning which says the ‘atmosphere will remain unstable such that the raise rise in temperature will trigger slow-moving heavy showers and thunderstorms’.
Between 15-25mm could fall within an hour in some areas, bringing with it the risk of flooding.
The yellow weather warning is in force from 10am to 9pm on Tuesday and the same times again on Wednesday.
Rain is due to continue into Thursday, with a cloudy Friday and Saturday. Temperatures remain between 16 and 18 degrees.
