A new coffee shop has opened its doors in Friargate, replacing a previous coffee shop.
AdvertisementTownhouse Coffee and Brew Bar has taken three months to get into shape, and has been a family and friends effort.
Bernice Marie Newton, 28, threw open the doors on Saturday (18 June) to celebrate the finishing touches being done on the coffee shop.
Spread over two floors in what was Fanakis the Origins coffee was being brewed up.
Having been part of Cedarwood Coffee in Winckley Street for the last year Bernice is now striking out on her own.

She said: “There’s been a lot of hard work to get to this point and it’s lovely to have my friends and family around me.
“I hope people will like what we’re doing with the place.”
The upstairs area is available to hire out for functions and Bernice said she had three bookings already in.

Coffee comes from independent coffee-makers Origins in Cornwall.
A house coffee is going to set you back around £2.60, and there’s the usual choices on the coffee menu. It’s either regular or large in terms of sizes.
Town House officially opens from Saturday 25 June, and its opening times are 8am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, closed on Sundays.
