The father of a woman hurt after a crash in Brockholes Brow has praised the Prestonians who stopped to help her.
AdvertisementOn Thursday morning the A59 had one lane closed after a collision between a Fiat Puno and a van.
Lisa Derbyshire, 21, was cut free from the car by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.
She was on her way to a teaching placement in Broughton.
Her Dad, Andy Derbyshire, from Blackburn, said: “As the father of the girl involved in the incident I would like to thank all those who chose to stop and help. They helped her by placing their vehicles in front of her car to give her protection from other vehicles.
“They calmed her down until the emergency services arrived and who were great.
The trainee English teacher is currently recovering at home, after receiving bruising and a fractured heel in the collision.
She is due to begin a full-time teaching position in Nelson in September.
