AdvertisementThe terrifying incident saw a 35-year-old woman suffer a fractured arm and bruising to her face and body.
Preston Police are appealing for witnesses following the attack in Fletcher Road, close to the junction of Deepdale Mill Street.
Around 9.20pm on Friday 29 April a man had a conversation with the victim, who was then grabbed from behind and held around the neck before three more men appeared.
Each man took turns in kicking, punching and stamping on the woman, before running away from the scene. Nothing was taken from the victim.
One of the men is described as white, slim, with hair swept across his head. He was believed to be wearing a black bomber jacket, black skinny jeans and black Vans trainers.
Detective Constable Darren Caunce, of Preston CID, said: “This was a particularly savage and brutal assault which left a 35-year-old woman badly injured.
“The victim received extensive bruising to her face and body, along with a severely fractured arm, wounds all consistent with being stamped, kicked and punched.
“This was a cowardly attack by the men involved and the severity of the attack is shocking.
“We would be particularly keen to speak to anyone who recognises the description of the first attacker, as well as anyone who saw a group of men in the Fletcher Road and Deepdale Mill Street area around the time of the assault.
