Poppy-Mai from Blackburn died after a battle with a rare illness
A Preston teenager is calling on the city to help raise money in the memory of 16-month old Poppy-Mai Barnard.
The toddler died on Tuesday 3 May from a rare childhood tumour.
Tiffany Wilkinson, 17, has organised a fundraising night for a campaign started by Poppy-Mai’s parents to build a sanctuary for children who are unwell.
Farringdon Park Community Centre on Sunday 19 June is to become the centre of the fundraising efforts.

Tiffany, from Ashton-on-Ribble, said: “Poppy-Mai was suffering a Malignant Rhabdoid Tumour.
“Sadly she grew her angel wings earlier this month.
“Hoever in Poppy-Mai’s honour her parents want to build a sanctuary for other sick children but they don’t have the funds.
“I think Preston can play its part and help through the fundraising day.
“We’re going to have lots of activities for children including a bouncy castle, sand art, a DJ and all sorts of performances.”
The event takes place at the community centre in Thirlmere Road from 12.30pm to 4.30pm.
