While most of the country basks in glorious sunshine it looks like Preston’s weather is to remain its traditional self.

Although Saturday (May 7) is due to dawn bright and sunny there’s a risk of some heavy showers developing.

The Met Office has issued a weather warning saying “these showers may be heavy with the potential for lightning and small hail.

“Please be aware of the potential for localised disruption to travel and outdoor activities.”

The storms are due to pass through from around 1pm through to 10pm.

Without them there’s due to be a dry and very warm Saturday, with temperatures reaching around 20 degrees.

Sunday (May 8) and Monday (May 9) both look good weather wise with highs of 23 degrees on both days, Monday in particular is promising unbroken sunshine.
