It was a glorious Spring day for SkateMania, which returned to the UCLan Arena in Preston this weekend.
Many skaters were undertaking a gruelling marathon for charity around the one-mile circuit.
Others were putting themselves to the test against the clock and allĀ entrants received a certificate and medal for their efforts. There was also the opportunity to raise funds for a charity of your choice as part of the event.

Lou Taylor (pictured above) took part in the event. She said: “This year was the third Skatemania event I’ve taken part in; completing the half marathon twice then stepping up to the full marathon this year alongside my friend Gemma as we raised money for Lancashire Mind.
“It’s a fantastic event with participants travelling from all over the UK to take part; both inline skaters and those of us who skate on quads.
“There’s a huge mix of abilities and ages with people taking part for personal challenges, to raise money for charity, to win trophies or to just have fun.
“The ‘cycle’ track at UCLan is perfect for the event as it is smooth, used privately for the event only plus has different gradients & winding paths so it doesn’t get so repetitive.
“The weather was perfect this weekend and the atmosphere was fantastic with everyone cheering each other on and spectators providing encouragement from the sidelines.”
