A Lancashire Police car answering a 999 call has been involved in a crash in Preston city centre.

The incident around 11am on Friday (13 May) saw a Vauxhall Corsa and the police car collide where Corporation Street meets the Ringway.

Lancashire Police confirmed the Hyundai, a police vehicle, was answering an emergency call.

No one was injured in the crash which saw damage sustained to both vehicles.

It is the second collision involving a police vehicle in Preston in the space of the four weeks.

In Ribbleton in mid-April a police car ended up crashed into a lamppost which saw a road closed for around two hours.
