Jenny Mullinder has been recognised for her commitment to championing charitable causes.
From setting up a carers project to planning a young carers’ festival Jenny has faced her own issues.
She began a blog in 2013 called Your Book Begins sharing her personal experiences of losing her mother, mental health issues and coming to term with living on low pay.
The Young Women’s Trust named Jenny their most inspirational woman during a ceremony in Manchester.
Jenny said: “I am completely shocked and honoured to win the Inspiring Women Awards. I was so inspired by all the remarkable women I met on the night who are doing fantastic things in business, in the community and throughout their lives.
“To win this award is amazing and I just want to be able live up to the title I have been given; to work harder than ever to inspire and speak out for young people everywhere, to use my voice and networks to share the stories others don’t feel they can.”
