A new gourmet fish and chips takeaway has opened in Preston city centre.Advertisement
Friargate Fish and Chips is the brainchild of former Fusion Room owner Russell Lee.
He’s converted half of his former restaurant, which closed in January, into serving top notch fish and chips along with some other ‘fusion’ takeaway varieties.
Mr Lee, who began trading again on Tuesday (31 May) said he was hoping to reopen the other half of his former restaurant as a noodle bar if the fish and chips worked well.
On the menu includes fish tacos and he’s also offering a sideline in ‘sumo dogs’.
They are the classic American hot dogs but he’s offering a chorizo dog and a spicy dog.
There’s also shrimp tacos and pulled smoked BBQ pork tacos on the menu alongside the traditional fish and chips.

Mr Lee said his ‘healthy fish and chips’ was also on offer, which is grilled fish rather than traditionally fried.
Friargate Fish and Chips is also serving bottled craft ales to takeaway with your meal.
There’s a small amount of seating, bar stools, at the front and side if you want to eat in.
