Preston Police say the three men, all described as Asian and in their late 20s, burst into the flat in Livesey Street just after midnight on Saturday (7 May).
They threatened the group, all aged with 16 to 22, with violence and assaulted two of the men in the flat, one of the victims suffered a deep laceration to the face and bruising.
All three men wore dark clothing with part of their faces covered.
The tallest of the group is described as having a ‘big quiff hairstyle’ and one was ‘of chubby build’. One of the men carried a metal bar.
Det Sgt Jerry Sturgess, of Preston CID, said: “It isn’t clear at this time what the motive was for this attack and whether the intruders have mistakenly attacked this address. I urge anyone with any information at all to come forward.”
Police say the attacked is not being linked to two recent incidents in Frenchwood, where a man in his 60s was set upon by a gang and another where a man was struck with an iron bar on his doorstep.
