A Bamber Bridge man has been left injured after a car crash near Blackburn.
AdvertisementPolice are appealing for witnesses when a Renault Clio came off the road near the Royal Oak pub at Riley Green.
The car clipped the kerb and collided with wooden bollards and a lamppost before flipping over and crashing through a hedge before coming to rest on its roof in a field.
The A6061 was closed for around four hours from 11.30pm on Sunday (29 May) while police accident investigators were on the scene.
The driver, a 21-year-old man from Blackburn, suffered a head injury, broken wrists, broken pelvis and an injury to his lower leg.
A passenger, 20, from Bamber Bridge, suffered a broken nose and collar bone. Both men were taken to Royal Preston Hospital and their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Police are looking for a second passenger who is believed to have made off from the scene before emergency services arrived.
Sergeant Tracey Ward of the Road Policing Unit said: “This collision has left two young men with serious injuries and I would appeal to anyone who saw anything or knows what happened to get in touch with us.”
